Mona Okulla Obua is a German-Ugandan director, poet and visual artist. She graduated from Konrad Wolf Film University of Babelsberg in 2017. Topics of her work are diasporic identities, the filmic decolonization of black and biracial bodies, nature, spirituality and afro-surrealism. Her most recent short film INDIGO centers the experience of black German woman in front and behind the camera. INDIGO won the Special Prize at the International Short Film Festival, Berlin and the 2nd Place at Monologues & Poetry International Film Fest, USA in 2023. She recently relocated to Kampala.

Stephen Ojara is an established IBDP Design teacher at the International school of Uganda with an incredible literary background and passion for design, peace and academics. He cares about pushing his students to challenge norms and he challenges his own education learning about Literature, global issues and documentary film. He is from northern Uganda with a historical viewpoint on war making him actively advocate and participate with the STG 16, peace, Justice and strong institutions. 

LeeAnne Lavender is an educational consultant, coach, and facilitator specializing in digital storytelling, service learning, and education. With over two decades of experience as a high school English literature teacher and service learning coordinator, she has honed her skills in empowering individuals to use storytelling as a transformative tool. Her emphasis on digital storytelling and its ability to foster global citizenship resonates deeply Docathon’s mission of creating meaningful, community-driven change

Ambrose Watanda is an accomplished Humanitarian photographer, filmmaker, and content developer based in Kampala, Uganda. He has worked with reputable national and international not-for-profit organizations in Uganda and has built competence in film concept development, script writing, storyboard development, photo/video editing, and sound design. He is an inspiring artist and filmmaker in Uganda, and with his passion, he motivates and advocates for change.
